Poland and CEE countries attractive for hospitality industry investors

We have just closed third edition of Spotlight Hotel Investment Poland & CEE – the most important hospitality industry event in CEE. 13-14th June at the InterContinental Hotel in Warsaw we hosted more than 250 participants from Poland and Europe. The event was an excellent opportunity to discuss trends and industry-relevant topics, cooperation and networking!

  With support of the main partners of the conference, Christie & Co and B & B Hotels, as well as hotel chains, cities and hotel projects contractors, we were able to make Spotlight Hotel Investment Poland & CEE place of wide experience exchange, establishing cooperation and discussions on the most important topics for the entire industry “- says Aneta Kłodaś, Managing Director Bluevine Consulting, the organizer of the event.

This year Spotlight Hotel Investment Poland & CEE edition gathered developers, investors, hotel chains, financial institutions, as well as suppliers of products and services for hotels to discuss the prospects for growth, financing and managing hotel projects. The conference comprised of nine panel sessions: Polish and CEE Hotel Market, Hotel Development & Construction, Investment, City, Financing, Chain, Service Design Thinking, MICE, Architecture & Design. In addition to the discussion panels, we also invited participants do express their opinions – a dedicated voting system allowed participants to share their comments.

Various meeting topics brought together representatives of many sectors related to the hospitality industry. Among the panelists were : Miguel Martins, Director of Development, InterContinental Hotels Group; Rupert Simoner, CEO, Vienna House; Ireneusz Węgłowski, CEO, Chamber of Commerce of the Polish Hotel Industry; Małgorzata Dybaś, Development Project Manager, B&B Hotels; Lukas Hochedlinger, Managing Director Germany, Austria & CEE, Christie & Co; Eric Agnello, General Director, RD bud; Hans-Peter Hermann, Director ,Asset Management, Hotels, Invesco Real Estate; Izabela Kuszner, Director, Department of Investment Banking and Structured Finance, Pekao SA Bank; Bartłomiej Hofman, Head of Structured Credit, Alior Bank; Mateusz Czerwiński, Director, Warsaw Convention Bureau; James Dilley, Head of Interior Design, Jestico & Whiles; Anita Rosato, CEO, Anita Rosato Interior Design.

During the two conference days there were also accompanying events. June 14th at the XXX floor of the Palace of Culture and Science, at the initiative of Deputy Major of Warsaw, Michal Olszewski, were held Executive Breakfast for event participants interested in the Warsaw investment potential. – Warsaw remains top of the list for many international investors – says Adam Konieczny, Country Head, Poland, Christie & Co- While Warsaw and Cracow are still considered the most attractive hotel markets, Wrocław and Gdańsk are gaining momentum and even medium-sized cities such as Lublin and Rzeszow are moving into focus. Spotlight Hotel Investment Poland & CEE has also become a great place to showcase the other cities investment offers. During discussion panels and in the conference exhibition area guests were such cities as Lublin, Opole, Nysa and Gdynia.

Additional emotions provided sessions focused on issues related to architecture and design, MICE and service design thinking. – It is no longer just about access to Wi-Fi and a comfortable bed. People want to experience something more. They want to collect emotions. – said James Dilley from the London studio Jestico & Whiles, responsible, among others for the interior design of Andel’s Hotel Lodz. In addition, in exhibition area were stands of Cotton & Co, Designit and Contardi.

This year’s edition of Spotlight Hotel Investment Poland & CEE confirmed investors interest in the hospitality industry in Poland and Central and Eastern Europe. Numerous guests from Poland and Europe, panel discussions, presentations, exhibition area and evening cocktail helped create unique atmosphere for networking and establishing business relationships. Therefore, as organizers underline, the project Spotlight Hotel Investment Poland & CEE, enjoying growing popularity and market acceptance, will be developed.
